April W. Wyatt

April is an enthusiastic, outstanding, motivational preacher and teacher of the Word of God. A shear delight of hers is to see lives changed and commitment made by sinners to follow Christ. To see believers stand up and be counted as a Christian, and to live victoriously in their walk with the Lord brings true joy to her.

April's commitment to the work of the Lord has sparked a desire to be "ablaze with God's Spirit" and become a greater living flame of gospel zeal day after day. She has on countless occasions shared Jesus in a very practical way with others.

April's career and progressive training with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service provided many opportunities for her to interface with the public one on one, in large and small groups and Mass Media communications. Specifically, she motivated youth through the 4-H Youth Educational Program by developing leadership skills, implementing good citizenship and encouraging achievement by youth participating in various programs, events and activities. She has been a positive role model for many and mother to countless numbers of youth.

She stimulated adults by providing educational programs, pamphlets and brochures that strengthened families and individuals, and provided a medium to help these individuals meet basic life needs. She continues to help them make choices about their future so that they become healthy, productive, financially secure and emotionally stable, responsible members of society.

April received her early childhood, elementary and high school education in the Sumter County, Georgia School Systems (Plains and Americus, Georgia). She majored in Home Economics Education at the Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, Georgia. Since July 1972, April has been an educator with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service in Fulton County (Atlanta), Georgia. On July 1, 1996, April was appointed a Public Service Assistant Faculty member with the University of Georgia.  On June 30, 1999 April retired with twenty-seven years of service with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service.

April has taken Bible classes at The Carver Bible and Beulah Heights Bible Colleges. Since her call and license to ministry she enrolled in the Luther Rice Seminary, pursuing a Masters of Divinity Degree. The Holy Spirit keeps April in constant training for the Kingdom's purpose. April fully embraces the gift of life and is a life changer wherever she goes.

April accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of nine years in the Lebanon Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia. After her college years she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and became actively involved in The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church where she remained for twenty-five years. In 1997 the Lord spoke to her and the Holy Spirit unctioned her to move. With the blessings of her husband and the pastor of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church April became a dedicated co-laborer in the Gospel with Carolyn Driver of Carolyn Driver Ministries (CDM), Inc. of Fairburn, Georgia. In 2001 CDM made a name change to Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) to envelope the description and be in the flow of the mandate and vision which the Lord has called the ministry to. April is an elder at CDM and gives leadership to the New Members Orientation and the Greeters / Ushers Ministry.

April has ministered in in various capacities such as conferences for churches; Women's retreats, workshops and seminars; Women's Day Speaker; The Marietta Street Women's Shelter in Atlanta, Georgia; The CUP (a ministry to the homeless), North Avenue Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia; The Southwest Georgia African Methodist Episcopal Quarterly Conference; motivational speaker for Elementary Schools in Fulton County.

Since 1999, she has traveled with mission teams to the Philippines, Hong Kong and Macao, participating in leadership training seminars for church pastors and leaders. Her travel also includes Durban and Pretoria, South Africa where she has taught extensively in the Missions Exposure Training (MET) school for pastors from various parts of Africa.

April has a special love for people and she flows gently in the Prophetic mantle which God has placed on her. As a wife, mother, educator, woman of God, and licensed and ordained minister, April administers God's Word in such a way that others are encouraged, exhorted, influenced, led and supported to become all that they can be in Christ.

April resides in College Park, Georgia with her husband Tommie, a retiree that loves fishing. They have one son, Roderick, and April is stepmother to five other children.
